Kylie

Only two months old, the tiny infant begins to have responses to the words by making sounds and tones. Kylie is trying hard to express her personality. It's fun to watch her when she talks.

Kylie has a little infection on the back of her right ear. Her tongue has fungus so I really need to clean her up after each feeding. She starts responding to my words and smiles back to me. She talks when I talk to her. Finally all the hard work get paid back. I love to put her on my leg and play with her. I believe the more we talk to the baby, the more intelligent the baby will become.

Father's Day

The 3rd Sunday of June is father's day. Carol invited several families to have a feast at the China Chalet restaurant. Kylie, of course, came with us. China Chalet serves authentically fiery and complex Sichuan chow made by a chef from Chengdu. The food was good but the portion was too small. Kids sit on the other table and their food was gone in a second. Later on everyone came to my house for celebrating Samuel's 12 birthday and also having some fruit and dessert. The new remodel basement attracted the most attention and kids had fun playing down there. Without cooking meals, the party is a lot less stressful and enjoyable.

Graduation Party at Michael Linder's house

It was a beautiful day on the graduation day of June 29, 2009 after many days of raining. Bob invited some graduates to his house for a pool party.
Most kids were from the neighborhood and grew up together. They will be going to the middle school together.
I made a watermelon with grape tomato salad for this party. By the end of the party I still didn't see it out on the table. Later Bob told me that he forgot about it but it was delicious.

Alex's graduation from 5th grade

Time flies. Alex graduated from the elememtary school. We went to his graduation ceremony. Alex asked me to bring Kylie because his teachers and classmates wanted to see her. The gym was packed with parents and relatives. The ceremony lasted about 2 hours and it seemed all kids received rewards. Alex received a music reward from his band teacher and of course his own teacher didn't reward him anything. I am glad that he has finally finished his 5th grade since he didn't really enjoy this school. I felt sorry for him that he has to face a year long unhappy 5th grade but he should become a stronger boy.
Congradulations to you, Alex. Have a happy summer.

Raining summer in New Jersey

Since May the rain has not stopped for more than a week. People say this is going to be a raining summer in NJ. Oh, I like to see more sunny day so I can take Kylie out for a walk. She likes to sleep in the stroller and enjoys the little breeze.

Yesterday I planted flowers under the mail box and some in front yard. It looks much nicer and brighten the whole house. I had also planted some vegetable plants such as tomatoes and cucumber in the back yard. I fenced it so deer or other animals won't come closer and eat it. Rachel picked two cantaloupe plants but I am afraid I won't have enough space for it to grow. If it rains too much, my plants might get drowned.

Kylie was born on April 15, 2009

This is the first time I create my blog. Since I am staying home with my new born baby Kylie, I like to share her growing story with my family and friends.

Kylie is my 3rd child. Before her I have Alex (11) and Rachel (9). We are so happy to have Kylie come to our family. She is such a good baby.
